Portrait #16 – Daljit

The shawl that Daljit is wearing was made by her Noni (Mom’s Mom) and was embroidered by her sister. Her sister wants to throw it away but Daljit won’t let her because she loves it!

This is a stool that her father made the thread for, and coloured, and her mother wove together. Daljit asked her mother to bring it back from a visit to India, to keep as a fond memory.
